Ads

Advertising
One switch. Off means no ad renders anywhere in the app.
Test mode
Serves Google's test ads. Safe to tap. Keep this ON until you have checked placement on a real phone — tapping a LIVE ad yourself can get your AdMob account banned.

App controls

Reversible from here without a new app release. These are stored with the main app config, not the ad settings.
Video feed opens with sound
Off means the video tab starts muted and the reader turns sound on. Turn this off if readers complain about sudden audio.
Sponsor view / click tracking
Firebase events for the placements you sell directly. Never applies to AdMob ads.

Ad unit IDs

From admob.google.com → your app → Ad units. Format ca-app-pub-XXXX/YYYY (slash). Changing these takes effect without a rebuild. Leave blank to keep using test units.
The ad format in AdMob must match the field. Both the banner and the in-feed slot render a Banner ad — the in-feed one simply requests a 300×250 size. If you create the in-feed unit as Native advanced or Interstitial, AdMob refuses every request, the slot appears for a second and then collapses.

Where ads may appear

Each surface is independent. Everything starts off — turn on only what you want.
Home feed — cards between storiesThe main placement. Spacing is set below.
Home — anchored bannerFixed strip above the tab bar.
Article screen — bannerBelow the article web view.
Rashi screen — bannerSits with the sponsor slot.
Panchanga screen — banner
Explore — between post cards readyWired and shipped in the build. Flip on whenever you want it.
Explore — banner ready
Video — between videos readyA full-screen ad slot every N videos.
Explore posts — full-screen pageInside the swipe-up post reader: after every N posts the next page is an ad, and swiping again continues to the following post. Same behaviour as the video feed. Separate from the Explore grid ads above.

How often

Higher numbers mean fewer ads. These defaults are deliberately light — a reader sees nothing until six stories in, then roughly one ad per eight. The daily ceiling counts only full-screen interruptions; banners refresh on their own and are not counted against it.

Full-screen ads (interstitial)

The highest earning format and the easiest way to lose readers. Built and ready, shipped off. Turn it on only once you can watch retention afterwards.
